The European Union will grant 4.4 million Euros as part of the Euro Solar wanting to create clean energy sources, according to a ministerial agreement published Monday in the official gazette.
To manage the project the Guatemala government created the National Coordinating Cell (CNC) Euro Solar Program reporting directly to the Ministry of Energy and Mines of the country but will also be featured the ministries of health and education.
“Promote the generation of energy through sunlight, mainly for rural areas,” says the document.
This same solar energy program is carried out in countries like Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Paraguay, Ecuador and Bolivia.
