The City Of Los Angeles With Ambitious Solar Plan

Los Angeles fight climate change and embark on the green economy with 1.3 gigawatts of solar energy by 2020, representing 10% of its energy needs.

Last week, Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, along with other members of his government presented the plan of solar energy America’s largest solar plant with a capacity of 1.3 gigawatts.

“It’s time to use our most abundant natural resource to generate electricity and create jobs we need in the future,” Villaraigosa said, “We are taking the next step to become an example of ecological city in the world.”

The project called “Solar” presents an opportunity to build environmental solutions in economic opportunities for city residents to invest and stimulate the local economy. According to administration, every 10 megawatts (MW) of solar potential created between 200 and 400 new jobs.

“Los Angeles is increasingly clean, green, and now we are launching the plan’s largest municipal solar energy in the nation. Become a solar city not only helps clean the environment, but also create good jobs and help the industry grow, “said the consul of the city.
