Solar Blinds That Provide Light

While solar technology is becoming stronger, ingenious applications are starting to emerge. A good example is the “vertical solar lamps”, designed by the Korean Yoon-Hui Kim and Eun Kyung Kim, a set of vertical blinds that provide solar energy light.

These mini blinds have photovoltaic cells and LED pixels. With the blinds closed during the day, the cells absorb solar energy. At night, lights shaped LED lamps are lit, providing you with light.

Solar blinds are an ideal blend for the design and sustainability. They use a common product in the houses (the blinds) and renewable energy together with super efficient LED light. These solar shades are not released yet, but we are sure to be a product commonly used in the near future.
