Pope Mobile Will Work With Solar Energy
The Vatican joins the green revolution of alternative energy. So yesterday, Cardinal Giovanni Lajolo, President and Governor of Vatican City announced yesterday that they plans to build a shielded solar energy “popemobile” for the transportation of Benedict XVI.
Today will be presented to the press an installation of solar panels made in the roof of the Paul VI hall to general audiences, better known as Aula Nervi in the name of the great Italian architect who projected the masterpiece.
Cardinal Lajolo described it as a “brilliant idea” to build a “popemobile” fueled by solar energy.
The “popemobile” was born during the long 26-year pontificate of John Paul II, who made over a hundred traveling journeys around the world. Armored and transparent so that the crowds could see the pope, the “popemobile” accompanies the Pope everywhere.
“It may be a prime example to reduce environmental pollution,” said the Vatican Cardinal State governor.
