Photovoltaic Cell 200 Times Thinner Than A Hair
Scientists from the University of Harvard created a photovoltaic cell 200 times thinner than a hair, a breakthrough revealed by the British magazine “Nature”.
This is a new nano-device that, according to its creators, may turn into the first of a new generation.
These scientists have been using silicon to develop this small cell covered by 3 different kinds of conductors similar to coaxial electric cables.
This device functions seem simple from the perspective of its creators: the light enters through the conductors and generates electrons that will keep the positive charge in the lower layer.
According to some scientists, this cell may contribute to give electric energy to nano-electric circuits.
