Isofotón Solar Building
Arquitechture and photovoltaic energy are merged in the new Isofotón building; this multinational Spanish company based in Málaga (Andalucía, España) has 28.000 sq mt. ready to produce 200mW per year and 200.000 sq mt. of thermal panels. The King of Spain opened the building yesterday.
It has photovoltaic modules within its structure to connect it to the network. On the roof they’ve installed thermal catchers that transport warm water for the processes on the factory and also for their air conditioner.
Established in 1981, Isofotón is a successful case of “derivate product” of the Universidad Politécnica of Madrid. Its source matter is silicon and the photovoltaic research from several professors from that university along with the prestigious Antonio Luque as leader. 25 years later Isofotón is as big as its new building.
