Forms of Solar Energy
Here you have a summary of the different forms of solar energy utilization. Remember that the sun emits to the Earth six thousand million times more energy than is consumed worldwide. And although currently the photovoltaic cells are very effective in converting solar energy received since with current technology, a silicon cell produces over its lifetime, twenty times the energy consumed in its manufacture. The new technology will allow doubling that figure.
Passive Solar Energy: Harness the sun’s heat without mechanisms or mechanical systems.
Solar thermal: Produces low-temperature hot water for sanitary and heating.
Solar photovoltaic: Panels that produce electricity through semiconductors that are excited by solar radiation.
Solar thermal power: Produces electricity with a conventional thermodynamic cycle from a high temperature heated fluid (thermal oil)
Solar Hybrid: combines solar energy with biomass burning, fossil fuels, wind or other alternative energy.
Solar wind energy: Works with the air heated by the sun, which rises through a chimney where the generators are.
