California Adopts Massive Project Of Solar Energy
The Public Utilities Commission of California approved a $ 2.9 billion to the state one of the world’s largest producers of solar energy.
The plan would add 3,000 megawatts of solar energy 11 years through the installation of 1 million solar systems on roofs of homes, businesses, farms, schools and public buildings. The amount of electricity generated would be equivalent to about six new power plants. Solar energy could save customers for general use in California to $ 9 billion estimate of a reduced need to build new power sources and to buy electricity at peak demand.
Environmentalists said the California solar initiative could help reduce the cost of solar energy, create jobs and reduce emissions of greenhouse gases blamed for global warming.
“With energy costs of lifting and continued air pollution, this is exactly the kind of needs of California’s initiative signal,” Bernadette Del Chiaro, clean energy advocate for Environment California, said the pressure associated of this, we will consider cleaner air, affordable solar energy and California regaining its world leadership in solar energy. ”
The decision follows the approval status of a project that would put some 20,000 solar dishes in the Mohave Desert to generate 500 megawatts of electricity. A second project in the Imperial Valley, east of San Diego, is awaiting approval by the state. Green Hope’s lawyers energy both large solar projects in the desert of California could boost industrial development of solar technology.
The motion of California to solar and other green energy sources comes after a state study found significant evidence that greenhouse gas pollution can be reduced substantially in a benefit rather than a cost. The study, commissioned by the Hewlett Foundation William and Flora, found that energy efficiency has helped the California economy grow an extra 3 percent – up $ 31 billion – compared to business as usual. In addition, researchers say that nearly every one typically saved Californians $ 1,000 per year between 1975 and 1995, just to standards of efficiency for buildings and applications.
