Wind Energy
Wind power does not pollute, is inexhaustible and slows the depletion of fossil fuels contributing to prevent climate change. It is a technology fully mature and fine-tuned.
Is the energy derived from wind, or the kinetic energy generated by the effect of air currents, and is transformed into other useful forms for human activities.
Over 15,000,000 million kWh of electricity are generated annually around the world. Of this, nearly 65% is produced by burning fossil fuels and the rest is obtained from other sources, including nuclear, hydroelectric, geothermal, biomass, solar energy and wind energy. Only about 0.3% of this is wind energy, however, the use of wind for electricity production has been expanding rapidly in recent years, largely due to technological improvements, the maturation of the industry and a growing concern about the emissions associated with burning fossil fuels. There is still much room for growth as only a small portion of the usable wind resource is being exploited. By the regulations to the electricity industry, and with incentives from governments, play an important role in determining how quickly adopts wind energy. Effective policies will help pave the way and ensure that wind power can compete with other energy sources in the electricity market.
Contrary to what may occur with conventional energy, wind power does not produce any alteration on aquifers or consumption, or pollution or waste discharges. Electricity generation from wind does not produce toxic gases, or contribute to the greenhouse effect, or destroys the ozone layer, also creates acid rain. Not cause dangerous side-products or waste pollution.
Each kWh. Electricity generated by wind energy instead of coal, prevent:
0.60 kg of CO2, carbon dioxide.
1.33 gr. SO2, sulfur dioxide.
1.67 gr. NOx, nitrogen oxides.
The electricity produced by a wind turbine avoid scorching day thousands of liters of oil and thousands of kilograms of black on brown coal power stations. The same generator produces the same amount of energy obtained by burning 1000 kg of oil daily. By not burning these kilos of coal, avoiding the emission of 4109 kg of CO2, resulting in an effect similar to that produced by 200 trees. Prevents the emission of 66 kg of sulfur dioxide, SO2, and 10 kg of nitrogen oxides-NOx-leading cause of acid rain.
Wind energy is independent of any political or business relationship, obtained in a mechanical way and is therefore directly usable.
At the end of the life of the installation, the dismantling has no print.
A Park 10 MW:
Evita: 28,480 Tons. Of CO2 per year.
Replaces: 2447 Tep. Tonnes of oil equivalent.
Gives Work to 130 people per year during the design and construction.
Provides: Industry and technology development.
Generates: Electricity for 11,000 families.

It’s out there for the taking, no doubt about that. It is fully conceivable that we can power the whole planet indefinitely harvesting renewable energies. What we lack though is the political backbone to make the hard decisions. That’s ironic, since we voted for our leaders on the basis that they would see us right.
