Japanese Satellite, The First To Monitor Greenhouse Gases

The IBUKI satellite, operated by the Japan Aerospace Agency, the United Nations and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific, will be the first satellite to observe the world greenhouse gas emissions and monitor the effects they cause, as the UN reported.

Launched on January 23, the information will be collected every 3 days and will be available to scientists free of charge. The satellite will be able to monitor the entire planet, including regions which have little or no data.

Ultimately, these data will help us better understanding of gas emissions.
