Production Capacity for Solar Panels Increases In Nuevo Leon

Sanyo announced it will increase its production capacity of solar panels on its factory in Monterrey nearly two and a half times. This with the aim of tapping the growing U.S. market of solar energy.

With the expansion the plant will reach an installed capacity of 50 MW from 20 MW.

More than 30 million dollars will be invested in the expansion, which is expected to generate about 600 new direct jobs once the project is completed.

Sanyo continues to grow their plants with the most advanced production equipment and is constructing new facilities for future growth in response to growing market demand.

Meanwhile, the company said that plans are consistent with the bet on this type of renewable energy, which seeks to double its installed capacity, from 260 MW to 600 MW in annual production by 2010.
