Mexican Company Will Invest 6 Million Dollars To Build Solar Collectors
Heliocol Mexico will invest six million dollars in the country for the construction and distribution of solar collectors that will reduce the emission of greenhouse effect gases caused by LP gas heaters.
Announced by the Chairman of this company, dedicated to supply solar energy systems, Hector Fidel, who said this investment will be applied sometime between 2007 and 2010. It would satisfy internal consumption and exportation to the US, Central and South America.
At an interview for Notimex, he said that at its 1st phase, they will invest 1 million dollars to install a plant at Queretaro where the solar energy equipment will be built with Israeli technology.
After making emphasize the need of using clean energies, he refers that in Mexico exist about 24 million of constructions using LP gas heaters, emitting greenhouse gases causing climate change.
That’s why the Institute of the National Fund for Worker’s Housing (Infonavit) and the National Commission of Housing (Conavi) accepted the inclusion of solar collectors in the construction of social interest houses.
He pointed that every year Heliocol de México S.A de C.V. Imports, distributes, installs and offers maintenance to 5 thousand units, but due to the growth on the use of solar collectors he previews that the demand of this equipment will rise to 100 thousand at short term.
Facing this situation, he said, building the plant will allow to fulfill the needs of proprietary of social interest houses; therefore to install equipment in middle and upper class houses.
Hector Fidel commented that since the early 90s, they install about 100 thousand square meters of this equipments and its cost oscillates between 7 and 10 thousand Mexican pesos (500 to 800 dollars).
He stated that different constructors in the country accepted to install collectors, that’s why at a short place it is expected the greenhouse effect gases, the greenhouse effect and burning of fossil fuels to be reduced in a considerable way.
There are about 130 thousand square meters already installed in hospitals, sports clubs and hotels, among other properties, whose owners saved important economic resources and supported the environment.
Now they expect to put them in social interest houses because their owners will save about 120 and 150 Mexican pesos monthly, besides the fact they will avoid contaminating.
Heliocol’s chairman assured that the cost of solar collectors can be recouped in 3 or 4 years and have a functional life up to 2 decades.
He added that facing the application of environmental laws in countries such as the US, Heliocol wants to export this equipment to that nation, to Central and South America, where a real market for solar collectors exists.
