First Solar City in Mexico

Temixco´s municipal authorities in the state of Morelos, are developing the “Solar City Temixco”, in which the consumption of electrical energy will be through solar energy, improve the streets to allow to save fuel, among other things .

The solar panels, which became mandatory in the homes, they will be provided by the CIE (Center for Research in Energy) of the UNAM, because with the design they have, the investment can be recovered in the first six months of use due to the consumption of electric power they represent. Another important point is that it will require that the houses to sewage water treatment because they will not be allowed to connect to municipal sewer, which represents a huge saving of water.

The CIE also works in the studio to a new design of the vehicular circulation system, allowing ¡ to lower the fuel consumption reducing the time of transfer from one side to another. It also contemplates the removal of bumps, because they generate higher fuel consumption and hence emissions of polluting gases into the atmosphere.

It is interesting and gratifying to see that there are municipalities that are taking the reins themselves without waiting for the federal government; I hope other municipalities will follow the example soon.
