Spinning tower in Dubai uses solar energy

The same State-City that has a Skiing Center in the middle of the desert, that has artificial islands at the very own image of our continents and also has the biggest mall on earth (among other eccentricities).

Now it’s about to have a 200 condos tower in constant movement that will complete a 360° spinning within one week. As if it weren’t enough, the energy used to power every piece of that mechanism is going to be obtained from solar plates, taking advantage from the excessive sun exposure on the region (because it seems they know exactly where to put the excessive amount of money). The building is supposed to move at 5mm per second, using the energy equivalent of “21 electric tea pots” according to them.

Solar energy departments started selling since march 2007 and building is going to be finished on the course of this year. New plans include other 23 towers in different date lines.
