Liquid solar panels? When I saw this title I could not understand how can liquid solar panels be made, but a by reading a little more in the article I understood what they were talking about.
The information in this regard is still very limited due to patents, but essentially what they have created with nano particles of silicon that are mixed with a solvent, and then poured in whatever you want. After that the solvent is removed and what remains is a solar panel on the form you want it, where you poured the mixture. The structure of the solar cells is very orderly because the nano particles, so they can achieve efficiencies comparable to conventional panels, although its target is 16 or 17% efficiency.
Some other big news around these solar panels is that they say liquids down their costs of the panels by 50%. It is expected that they are on sale by early 2009.
