Schools will implement solar energy

As a way to preserve the environment the city of l`Alcora Spain is introducing the use of solar energy systems at public schools.

The Grangel Mascarós and the  Comte d´Aranda schools are installing solar panels in order to produce hot water for sanitary use.  The mayor, Javier Perris, explains that the right way to promote renewable energies is beginning with the cities.  And that this initiative is focused in contributing to te reduction of the atmospheric pollution, and improving the environmental quality  at l`Alcora.

Besides schools the project plans to install solar energy systems  in the public sports clubs and sports fields.

The use of thermal solar energy in public buildings will be accompanied by the implementation of alternative energies by the private sector.  l`Alcora has the firs private electric plant that uses photovoltaic methods.  The panels are installed over the top o a warehouse at el Cami de Santa.

The photovoltaic central at l´Alcora  has a power of  15 kilovolts and its conformed by 78 solar panels with a power of 200 volts each one, distributed in six panels.

The investment for the plant was of 110,000 euros, and the investment company plans to retrieve in a 12 year period, from there the plat will be profitable.
